dUTP, along with dCTP, dGTP, dATP is used in molecular biology studies as a substrate in DNA matrix synthesis reactions.
It is used in amplification of DNA fragments, in DNA labeling, in sequencing reactions using dideoxy terminators and in a number of other cases.
It is obtained by chemical synthesis, starting from 2'-deoxynucleoside-5'-monophosphates, purified using a multi-stage chromatographic process (IOC, RPC).
Supplied as a 100 mM solution in sterile water (-w) or TE buffer (-te), either individually or in a set of 4 dNTPs (dATP, dGTP, dCTP, dUTP).
Storage and transportation conditions
Long-term storage at -20 °C.
Transportation at ambient temperature is allowed.
